# Troubleshooting the Paraform connector for hiring managers
> Fix sign-in, access, and tool errors when you use Paraform as a hiring manager in Claude or ChatGPT.
Find the message you see, then follow the fix. If the problem continues, email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com). Include the request ID from the error if there is one.
## Sign-in and access
**The connector works only with a Google account.** You sign in with Google, and the Google email must be the same email as your Paraform account. That email must be a Gmail address or a Google Workspace address. If your Paraform email is on another provider, for example Outlook or Microsoft 365, you can't connect. A Paraform email and password alone don't work. Email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com) for help.
Access errors contain `HM MCP access is not available for this account:`, followed by the cause in the table below. Paraform checks both the recruiter and the hiring manager access, so a part that starts with `Recruiter MCP access is not available for this account:` can come first. If you aren't a recruiter, you can ignore that part.

| HM MCP access is not enabled for this user | You don't have an invitation yet. Email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com) to ask for access. |
| HM MCP is disabled for this company | The connector isn't turned on for your company. Ask your Paraform contact to turn it on. |
| One active company membership is required | Your account belongs to more than one company, or to none. Contact Paraform to check your company membership. |
| A current company user account is required | Paraform couldn't confirm the signed-in user as a current company user. Disconnect, then sign in again with your own company account. If it continues, contact [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com). |
| Company access is required | Your account can't see your company on Paraform. Ask a company admin to check your access. |
| No Paraform account matches this Google identity | The Google email isn't the email on your Paraform account. Disconnect, then sign in again with the Google account that uses your Paraform email. |
| This Google email is not eligible for HM MCP access | The email is on a domain that isn't a Gmail or Google Workspace account. Contact [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com). |
Other sign-in messages:

| This sign-in is no longer valid. Sign in again. | Access was removed in Google, or the sign-in expired. Reconnect Paraform in your assistant's connector or plugin settings. |
| Paraform could not confirm this sign-in in time | Paraform couldn't check your sign-in in time. Wait a few seconds, then try again. |
## Tool errors
When a tool fails, the assistant gets a message in this form:

| Status | What to do |
| - | - |
| `400` | A filter value isn't valid, for example an unknown status. Ask again in plainer words. |
| `403` | The connection doesn't have access to this data. Reconnect. If it continues, contact Paraform. |
| `404` | The candidate doesn't exist, the role was deleted, or you can't see the candidate in the Paraform app. Open the role in Paraform and check that you can see the candidate. |
| `429` | Too many requests in one minute. Wait a minute, then try again. |
| `5xx` | A temporary Paraform error. Try again. If it continues, send the request ID to Paraform. |
## Other problems
**The assistant doesn't use Paraform.** Make sure the connector is on for this chat. In ChatGPT, start the message with `@Paraform`. Name the thing you want, for example "my candidates on Paraform".
**A candidate is missing.** The candidate list shows the active pipeline by default. Ask for rejected candidates by name, or by the rejected status. Use the candidate's full name.
**A role is missing.** The connector shows only the roles you can manage. Ask a company admin to approve you for the role.
**Feedback or a rejection reason is missing.** The connector returns only what your company recorded in Paraform. When nothing is recorded, the assistant has nothing to report.
