# Troubleshooting the Paraform connector
> Fix sign-in, access, and tool errors when you use Paraform in Claude or ChatGPT.
Find the message you see, then follow the fix. If the problem continues, email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com). Include the request ID from the error if there is one.
## Sign-in and access
**The connector works only with a Google account.** You sign in with Google, and the Google email must be the same email as your Paraform account. That email must be a Gmail address or a Google Workspace address. If your Paraform email is on another provider, for example Outlook or Microsoft 365, you can't connect. A Paraform email and password alone don't work. Email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com) for help.
Access errors read `Recruiter MCP access is not available for this account:`, followed by the cause in the table below. Paraform checks both the recruiter and the hiring manager access, so the message can also include a part that starts with `HM MCP access is not available for this account:`. If you aren't a hiring manager, you can ignore that part.

| Recruiter MCP access is not enabled | Your account doesn't have early access yet. Email [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com) to ask for access. |
| No Paraform account matches this Google identity | The Google email isn't the email on your Paraform account. Disconnect, then sign in again with the Google account that uses your Paraform email. |
| This Google email requires a manual Paraform API key | The email is on a domain that isn't a Gmail or Google Workspace account. Contact [team@paraform.com](mailto:team@paraform.com). |
| Recruiter access required | The Paraform account isn't a recruiter account. Sign in with your recruiter account. |
| An approved active recruiter profile is required | Paraform hasn't approved your recruiter profile, or the profile isn't active. Finish onboarding in the Paraform app, or contact Paraform. |
Other sign-in messages:

| This sign-in is no longer valid. Sign in again. | Access was removed in Google, or the sign-in expired. Reconnect Paraform in your assistant's connector or plugin settings. |
| Paraform could not confirm this sign-in in time | Paraform couldn't check your sign-in in time. Wait a few seconds, then try again. |
## Tool errors
When a tool fails, the assistant gets a message in this form:

| Status | What to do |
| - | - |
| `400` | A filter value isn't valid, for example a location the API doesn't know. Ask again in plainer words. The error lists the accepted values, so the assistant can retry. |
| `403` | The connection doesn't have access to this data. Reconnect. If it continues, contact Paraform. |
| `404` | The role, candidate, or call doesn't exist, or you can't work on it. Check that the role is open to you in the Paraform app. |
| `429` | Too many requests in one minute. Wait a minute, then try again. |
| `5xx` | A temporary Paraform error. Try again. If it continues, send the request ID to Paraform. |
## Other problems
**The assistant doesn't use Paraform.** Make sure the connector is on for this chat. In ChatGPT, start the message with `@Paraform`. Name the thing you want, for example "my Paraform candidates" or "roles on Paraform".
**A list looks short.** Lists return one page at a time. Ask the assistant for the next page.
**A candidate is missing.** The connector shows only candidates you own. Candidates that are hidden, archived, or shared to you by a teammate don't appear in the candidate list.
**Fees show as empty.** Your agency hides payment details from members. The connector shows what the Paraform app shows you.
